A Message from your NJAHPERD JRFH/HFH Coordinator
|
Dear Heart Heros,
Happy New Year!
Hope this Heart Hero News finds you all gearing
up for your 2017 events. The
Zoo Crew has be
en exciting, and
"
Roary
"
has been a real hit!
I would like to
invite you all to the NJAHPERD Annual Convention and to the JRFH and HFH Coordinators Breakfast, on Tuesday February 28, 7am-7:45am.
This is a "thank you" to all for hosting an event this past year. Please come meet other coordinators and enjoy great networking and a wonderful buffet.
We all, as physical education teachers, are constantly looking for more funds to assist us with meeting our programs' needs. Hosting a JRFH or HFH event can help
get those funds by providing your district with gift certificates for equipment from US Games. If you help the AHA by hosting an event, they in turn help you provide equipment for your program. This supplements your district funds and can provide that expensive piece that you may not have thought was possible.
Please pass this info on to a colleague who may not host an event
,
and ask them to consider hosti
ng this year. If they host an
event,
you will also be granted the same amount of gift certificates as the new host earns from their event. That is a REAL BONUS!
Hope to see you at the Convention,
Sincerely,
Mickey Fox
NJAHPERD JRFH/HFH Coordinator

Congratulations Tinc Road School, Flanders, NJ
Congratulations to Tinc Road "TIGERS" for meeting their goal of over $7,000 on their combined JRFH/HFH event this year.
Mr. Guili and Ms. Bretzger the Physical education teachers hosted the events by having the JUMP event inside while having the HOOPS outside Tinc Road School.
The incentive for the students was to see Mr. Guili dress as "ROARY" in a lion costume for morning arrival. Well, the Tigers accomplished their goal and Mr. Guili fulfilled the challenge.
The Tigers really completed the "ZOO CREW" this year. CONGRATULATIONS ON A GREAT EVENT FOR JRFH and HFH !!

Heart Disease Starts in Childhood
By age 10, nearly all kids have fatty streaks in their arteries. This is the first sign of atherosclerosis, the leading cause of death in the United States. So the question for most of us is not whether we should eat healthy to prevent heart disease, but whether we want to reverse the heart disease we may already have.
