Welcome to 2017! Lets start the year off with easy ways to conserve the natural environment and serve our communities.
The Green Classrooms
program offers an opportunity for you and your students to get involved in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The program enhances youth understanding of their part in creating a stronger and resilient community. Workshops and service projects a
vailable include:
- Waste Prevention workshop & service project:
- Plan a school litter pick-up
- Conduct a waste audit
- Make recycled paper and complete an art project
- Energy Efficiency and Climate Change workshop & service project:
- Conduct an energy audit
- Create "reminder bolts" for students to make a pledge for home energy efficiency
- Start a biking/walking program or a campaign for parents to take a "no-idle" pledge
- Water Conservation workshop & service project:
- Create "reminder droplets" for students to make one pledge for home conservation
- Conduct a water audit
- Create conservation campaign posters for student and staff restrooms and sinks
