PTMBAA Food Drive
Fall Community Service Event

November 6 thru 16, 2017

Join the PTMBAA for our fall community service event, a food drive that will benefit three local charities dedicated to solving hunger in the greater DC/Baltimore region: Capital Area Food Bank, Manna Food Center and Maryland Food Bank. Beginning November 6th, donation boxes will be set up at each campus to receive non-perishable food items.

Expand your network with part-time MBA students from other DC-area programs and learn a few professional development tips along the way. The Friendsgiving theme will provide a comfortable atmosphere in which to meet new contacts from other schools and to get in the holiday spirit. This will be a great opportunity to enlarge your professional network in a low-key, festive way.

Marketing & Finance Super Day is a  day full of learning, mock interviewing and networking with alumni and students across all MBA programs.

Keynote Speakers
Crista Gibbons, MBA '04, VP, Client Solutions, Strategy and Operations at National Geographic will be the Marketing Keynote Speaker. She will be speaking about the Power of Storytelling to Change the World: Activating Consumers at the Intersection of Passion and Purpose.

Glenn Noble, BS '84, Chief Commercial Officer at Interface Financial Group will be the Finance Keynote Speaker. He will speak about Fintech's Impact on Careers in Financial Services.

Lunch will be offered over a functionally tailored Ted talk and there will be opportunities to connect with other alumni and current MBA students at a dessert networking reception.

22nd Annual MBA Exclusive Conference (MBAX)
Hosted by the Howard University MBA Program (HU MBA)

The theme of this year's MBA Exclusive Conference (MBAX) is "Becoming an Agent of Change," and will feature workshops, keynote speakers, a career fair with notable companies, and the 13th Annual Minority Case Competition. The entire conference is being organized and run by the HU MBA student body.

Case Competition
The competition is a great way for students to showcase their business analytical skills and win a monetary prize of up to $11,000. Case teams that register by or before Monday, October 16, 2017, will only pay $100 in registration fees, and will have full access to all conference activities at no additional charge. The first 15 teams to sign up will receive free hotel accommodations. For more information and to register for the case competition click here.

Martin Gruenberg, 20th chairman of the FDIC will discuss how the financial crisis that began in 2008 laid the foundation for today's regulatory environment - and what might come next.

Martin J. Gruenberg is the 20th chairman of the FDIC, receiving Senate confirmation on November 15, 2012, for a five-year term. He has served on the FDIC Board of Directors since August 22, 2005, following broad congressional experience in the financial services and regulatory areas. He served as senior counsel to Senator Paul S. Sarbanes (D-MD) from 1993 to 2005, advising the senator on issues of domestic and international financial regulation, monetary policy and trade. Gruenberg holds a J.D. from Case Western Reserve Law School and an A.B. from Princeton University, Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
