Yoga Prayer
by Melissa Perehudoff

Asana.
Be still.
Create stability in
Downward dog.
Effortless effort leads to
Freedom in
Groins and
Hamstrings.
Inquire deeply without
Jarring the consciousness.
Know that steady work on the path
Leads to unravelling the
Mystery of your own existence with
Numerous
Opportunities to
Perceive and
Question any
Resistance residing in your body, mind or psyche to fully appreciate the absolute beauty, power, joy, peace, strength, intelligence, clarity, expansiveness and radiance of your own
Soul illuminating the
Truth of who you are
Under the
Veil of this
World's
eXtraordinary capacity to camouflage
Your own essence and
Zest for life.

Choppy yoga by Krisna Zawaduk

Q: I'm used to flow yoga classes-why are Iyengar Yoga classes so "choppy"?

A: The flow classes that many people are used to taking are most often based on some version of a sun salutation with other asanas (poses) inserted which provide for "flowing" movements from one pose to another. While you will experience sun salutations, vinyasa (series of poses connected in a kind of flow) or jumpings in Iyengar yoga classes, it is not the greater part of what we provide. A good flow of sequencing, however, is a distinct feature of Iyengar yoga classes.

A Message from our Billeting Coordinator:

As you know, the Kelowna Yoga House offers workshops regularly. These workshops are not only attended by KYH students but also by people from out of town. Sometimes these participants are looking for an option for accommodations other than a hotel and prefer to stay at somebody's home (billeting).

At this time, KYH is in need of more people who can billet. Billeters pay their host $40 per night including breakfast and $35 without breakfast.

If you are interested in meeting new people and opening your home to offer an affordable option to workshop participants from out of town, please email the KYH Billeting Coordinator at fjmasse@gmail.com.

Thank you!
