National AGC Safety Awards 

Recognizing AGC Contractor Members for Safety Excellence Since 1926, the National AGC Safety Awards (NASA) program has been an ongoing effort to offer AGC members an opportunity to evaluate their safety record. 

Submissions are due no later than February 13, 2017.


         AGC MA & MCAP Online Scholarship Program

AGC MA and the Massachusetts Construction Advancement Program (MCAP) gives out scholarship awards each year to deserving men and women who are enrolled in a construction or civil engineering degree program. Go to the Scholarship website to view the eligibility requirements and important information. 

The deadline date for applications is June 1, 2017

The AGC MA BWiC Committee is launching three leagues over the course of the spring/summer to include two consecutive 6 week leagues for women and an 8 week mixed league at  the  William J Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park. Registration is limited so join today!

Does the legalization of recreational marijuana in Massachusetts have any implications for construction contractors?

On January 19th (8:30 to 10:00 a.m.), AGC's Human Resources Committee will sponsor a panel discussion, led by legal counsel from AGC member firm Murtha Cullina LLP, on the implications of the marijuana legalization referendum recently approved by Massachusetts voters.  The panel will consider what, if any, changes in company policies and operations need to be considered in light of the new law.

AGC is pleased to welcome Greater Boston Code Consultants to train and  prepare our members for their Construction Supervisors License Exam:

Greater Boston Code Consultants is one of the only schools in Massachusetts that will provide you with computer based practice exams.  It only makes sense.  If you are going to take your exam on a computer, you should practice in that same environment.

The goal of the Health Hazards Awareness course is to assist participants with recognizing potential health hazards in the workplace, and eliminating, controlling, avoiding, or minimizing them whenever possible. 
Winter 2017-Lean Construction Program Series Units 1-7
January 27, 2017 |7:30 a.m- 4:30 p.m. (Take 1 unit or all 7)  | AGC Conference Center

This is a certificate program that consists of seven units.  Following the completion of all seven units, individuals will have a deep knowledge of both the theory and application of Lean Construction and be able to sit for an exam to earn AGC's Certificate of Management - Lean Construction (CM-LC) credential. 

OTI- 7115 Lock Out-Tag Out: Controlling Workplace Energy to Prevent Workplace Injury

This one-day course provides participants with information on the importance of energy control programs, procedures, training, audits and methods for controlling hazardous energy, and the knowledge and skills required to safely perform servicing and maintenance activities.

This course covers the requirements of the OSHA Permit Required Confined Space Standards with a comparison and contrast between 29 CFR 1910.146 (General Industry) and Subpart AA (Construction).
