Textures Demo by Janet Strickler at November's Meeting!
In Case You Missed it!

Janet Strickler was the guest artist for LAG's November meeting.

She gave  us a very in depth view of creating texture with found objects.  She  prepared a variety of samples to stimulate our imagination.

Thank you, Janet!

Art Web Links on Texture

We had so much fun with Janet's texture demonstration that we thought it would be a good idea to share some links to websites about texture!

FROM THE PRESIDENT
President's Message:

The new "season" has started off running. Our first 3 meetings have been very well attended, with lots of new things happening.  After talking to lots of members, the new Artist Social in October was a big hit.  Everyone loved the Art Swap (the most stuff we have ever had), our new Mini Show with over 14 entries, and our Autumn theme drawing session. Many folks went home with pumpkins (thank you Rhonda and Anderson Farms!) and full tummies from all the delicious treats people brought.

Our next Artist Social will be in February, where I will do a quick demo on how to use colored pencils and we will all do a hands-on drawing.  Don't forget to start collecting your unwanted art things to swap and also bring an art piece for the mini show where we will vote and award the winner.

I hope everyone is enjoying the new look of the LAG newsletter and website!  We have never had a professional work on it before, the changes have been fantastic.  Thank you, Jill!  She also started the Bi-weekly LAG emails to provide us with current news and opportunities that are out there.  Please let Jill know if you have anything to share, either about what you are doing or news of other events!

And last, but not least, your LAG membership fees are now past due if you haven't paid them yet! They were due in September (our year goes from Sept. to Sept). Please get them in NOW so you aren't taken off our list and miss out on all the great things happening with LAG!  (Details are listed below in another block).

Happy, Happy Holidays!
