Winter is here and it's brutal weather is fast approaching. Remind your drivers that it's best to be prepared for emergency situations.
Last winter, there were storms where drivers were stuck on shutdown interstates. When traffic isn't moving, wind chills are below zero and truck fuel gells up it can be a frightening (and sometimes deadly) experience.
Here are a few options for alternate heating sources. Simple things like keeping an extra blanket and winter outerwear on hand can also go a long way.
WARNING: Before using any indoor heating source, you need to install a carbon monoxide detector. If you don't already have one in your truck, get one. They're very inexpensive. Do not use a fuel-powered heater without a carbon monoxide detector!
Never place any heating source near bedding and other flammable items.
