King Pin Cataclysm
Steel Beam Load

While this driver was mid-turn the fifth wheel pin broke out of the trailer. He was carrying an over length load of steel beams at the time. We expedited dispatch of our two rotators to stabilize the load so the tractor could be split from the trailer safely. Then we trailered in a 30,000 pound forklift to transfer the beams from the disabled flatbed to our Landoll trailer. We were then able to tow the customer's empty trailer away. Nick, Tommy, Walter, Justin, Tim & Joshua all worked together like a well oiled machine to get this job done safely. Great job team!

Alternative Heating Solutions For Truck Drivers
Winter is here and it's brutal weather is fast approaching. Remind your drivers that it's best to be prepared for emergency situations.
Last winter, there were storms where drivers were stuck on shutdown interstates. When traffic isn't moving, wind chills are below zero and truck fuel gells up it can be a frightening (and sometimes deadly) experience.
Here are a few options for alternate heating sources. Simple things like keeping an extra blanket and winter outerwear on hand can also go a long way.

WARNING: Before using any indoor heating source, you need to install a carbon monoxide detector. If you don't already have one in your truck, get one.  They're very inexpensive. Do not use a fuel-powered heater without a carbon monoxide detector!
Never place any heating source near bedding and other flammable items.

Little Buddy Propane Heater
Provides 3800 btu/hour with a simple one-button start. Heats 100 square feet. Features "low oxygen" safety shut-off system and tip-over safety shut-off. Under $75.
HotHands and ToastyToes Warmers.
They are very inexpensive and can help you keep your hands and toes warm for up to 8 hours. They are also very small and easy to keep a bunch on hand.
Battery Powered Heater.
Gives you approximately 7 to 10 hours of heating time and has both a high and low heat settings. Note, this does have a 5 hour charge time through either an AC charger or USB power. Under $50.
Summertime Window Heat Shield Pop Ups
They help to keep heat inside the cab of the truck in the winter just like they keep the heat out in the summer.
