Annual Community Art Show:

The Best Local Art 2014 

 

The Washington County Arts Council, Inc. is pleased to present its "Annual Community Art Show: The Best Local Art of 2014." The juried community art exhibit will run from December 5, 2014 through December 30, 2014 with an opening reception on Friday, December 5 from 5pm to 7pm.

 

This year's Jurors were R. Benjamin Jones and Christine Tischer.


Come vote for the People's Choice. The piece with the most votes will win $250!
This prize is sponsored by the Hagerstown Arts & Entertainment District - supported by The City of Hagerstown.

The Washington County Arts Council Community Event Calendar has recently been updated!

The Washington County Arts Council was so pleased to participate with and promote the Holiday Pop Up Event.  The gallery can boast of increased traffic and many, many praises for all the high quality local art.  Numerous visitors promised to return for their holiday shopping.  Kudos to all the volunteers for their creativity, countless hours and dedication to downtown Hagerstown.

Tuesdays through Fridays, 11am to 5pm and on Saturdays 10am to 4pm
The gallery is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
 

Makerspace @ The Library

 

Do you have a craft hobby? Or a holiday project you're working on? Come share it with us at the Fletcher Branch's Hand-Makerspace! Bring your (portable) project, and we'll provide the space, snacks, and good company! Drop in for a little while or stay the whole time. No registration required.

Historic Houses of Worship in Downtown Hagerstown

Architectural historian Dr. Paula S. Reed will give a talk about Historic Houses of Worship in Downtown Hagerstown. The presentation serves as a prelude to the annual Holiday Houses of Worship Tour that will take place Friday, December 26, 2014 from 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. 

Maryland Symphony Orchestra to Present 27th Annual

"Home for the Holidays" Concerts on December 13 & 14;

 

Music Director Elizabeth Schulze and the Maryland Symphony Orchestra will kick off the holiday season with its 27th annual "Home for the Holidays" concerts on Saturday, December 13 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, December 14 at 3 p.m. at the historic Maryland Theatre in downtown Hagerstown.

 

This year's guests will be Colleen Daly, soprano; Rob Tudor, baritone; Hagerstown Choral Arts, and the Barbara Ingram School for the Arts Concert Choir. And, it wouldn't be an MSO Christmas celebration without the popular and spirited yuletide sing-along, led by Jolly Old Saint Nick himself.

 

MSO will collect donations for Toys for Tots and Salvation Army.
