Lovejoy High School

A Message from the Principal

Lovejoy HS News 01 17 17

Parents and Guardians,

We are starting our third week of the semester, and if your house is like mine, things are beginning to settle back into a routine. One of my favorite things about this time of year is seeing our recent alumni when they come back to LHS while on break from college. I love hearing about their transition from high school, and they are usually quick to tell me that their high school experience has prepared them for where they are now.

Please take a few minutes to look over the information and calendar listed below.

Sincerely,

Chris Mayfield
Principal
Lovejoy High School
NOTE:
In an effort to be as efficient as possible, we prioritize our parent email as follows:
* New or time-sensitive topics of interest are at the top of the list
* Followed by the Calendar of Events and Activities
* Older items appear below the calendar until they become obsolete

If you would like to update your district/campus email preferences or change your email address, please click on the  Update Profile link at the footer of this email. You will receive an email from Constant Contact which will allow you to update your information and campus news preferences.

Mini Majestic Dance Camp: January 28
The annual Mini Majestic Dance Camp will be held on Saturday, January 28th from 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM.  Lovejoy ISD girls K-6 are invited to join the Majestic Dance Team to learn a fun routine and perform at a "Show-Off" for parents and friends. The "Show-Off" will be held in the Lovejoy High School auditorium at 1:00PM on January 28th. The deadline for registration is January 24th. Please go to www.majesticsdance.org for additional details and registration information.

PSAT Scores
PSAT Scores are now available! Students should have received an email that includes their scores if they provided an email address as part of their registration form on the day of the test. If your student did not receive an email, they may simply click here to login to their Collegeboard account to check their official scores.

If your student has never created a Collegeboard account, they may do so via the same link by clicking "Sign Up".

Please also remember this is a great opportunity to visit the Khan Academy website. Khan Academy offers FREE online test prep for the SAT and PSAT by connecting with student's Collegeboard account and customizing test prep to their areas of weakness.

VERY IMPORTANT: Students should never create more than one Collegeboard account. Current 9th grade students created a Collegeboard account in 8th grade as part of the PSAT 8-9/Readistep score reporting process. It is imperative that students not create a second account. One account accesses all Collegeboard services (PSAT, SAT and AP). If they are unable to recover the email or username used to create their initial account, they will need to call Collegeboard's Student/Parent helpline to gain access: 866-433-7728.
