Taking Care Of The Little Things Or The Big Stuff?
Have you ever heard the expression "Taking Care of Business"? Undoubtedly, if you are an Elvis Presley fan, I am sure you are familiar with the phrase. When you go into the office every day I would assume "Taking Care of Business" is on your mind, as that is what you do as the owner of the Company.
But wait just a minute, I have to ask ---- Is the business you are taking care of the little things (making that first pot of coffee in the morning, calling your janitor service because not all the waste paper cans were emptied last night, making traveling arrangements for the trip you need to take next week, ordering new marketing materials because your supply ran out) that someone else in the office could and should be doing? Every minute that you spend on these little things takes you away from the "Big Stuff". What is the "Big Stuff "? ------
Accelerating Change, People, And The Management System

By Jack West a Silver Fox Advisor
Change has been considered "the only constant" for decades. It is all around us so what is new? The pace of change is (or at least appears to be) accelerating. This appears true for technological change, changes in thinking, a real press to manage risks to name a few examples. Almost every organization's quality management system (QMS) has had to adjust rapidly to keep up. The major International Standard on requirements for a quality management system- ISO 9001-has long required that the state of control must be maintained as the organization changes. The clear inference is that the drafters of ISO 9001 anticipated that the QMS itself should be altered to accommodate external or internal change. Clearly, top management needs to ensure that the integrity of the quality management system is maintained when changes to the quality management system are planned and implemented.

Silver Fox Advisor - Lunch & Learn
HOUSTON, TX (Aug. 23, 2017) - Silver Fox Advisors announced their September Lunch & Learn Program, scheduled for Thursday September 28, 2017, will feature Texas State Senator Paul Bettencourt. First elected to the Senate in 2014, Paul Bettencourt represents Senate District 7, which includes portions of Harris County. He previously served ten years as the Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector, where he introduced "Smart Government" at the Harris County Tax Office and developed a customer service-driven organization. His team created the first major online property tax payment system and the first county tax office website with online automotive registration in Texas. (His motto was "Get on-line, not in-line.").
In his first legislative session, Senator Bettencourt served as the chief Senate sponsor on 25 bills that the Legislature approved, including his amendment to SB 1760 that requires a 60% supermajority within a taxing jurisdiction to increase property taxes and has already prevented Dallas ISD from imposing a $100 million tax increase on its taxpayers.
Monthly Marketing Tip

DO NOT TALK BADLY ABOUT YOUR COMPETITORS
When you hear your competition falling down on the job providing poor service, isn't it tempting to want to tell everyone on your prospect list? Most sales people agree that you don't knock your competition but somehow sales people keep doing it and even get dragged into it by the unsatisfied customer. Think about it. When a sales person told you about their competitors' poor service or other short comings. You probably thought, "I've done business with those guys, and those guys aren't as bad as this sales person is saying". When you start talking negatively about your competitors, the prospect will start to think about the positive attributes of your competitor to justify their previous decision.
Don't Knock Your Competition: it may have an opposite effect!
