WELCOME BACK PANTHERS!
I look forward to seeing our students at registration on Monday, August 21. Click here for more information about registration.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • School Offices and the Library will be closed for a school-wide staff meeting on Friday, August 25 from 8-noon.
  • Textbook checkout is in the school library every day during the week of August 21, and after Late Registration.  Students must bring their schedule plus the completed Textbook Pickup Slip, which is in the Registration Packet.
  • First Day of School is Monday, August 28. It will be a minimum day.
  • Please join the PTSA and the Athletic Booster Club.
  • SUPPORT PEF! Mark your calendars for the annual Skechers Friendship Pier to Pier Walk on October 29. Peninsula High will have a team, so wait to sign up until we have the team information in place. I will send instructions in late September.
  • First Football Game against Sotomayor High School is September 8 at home 3pm
SPIRIT PACK PICK-UP
If you ordered a Spirit Pack by the deadline (August 1st), it may be picked up in the Activities Office, P115, on Registration Day.  If you didn't order a Spirit Pack, but would like some Spirit Pack items like zoo shirts, zoo socks, zoo visors, class comp shirts, agenda books, dance tickets, and more, there is an order form in the registration packet.  All of these items may be purchased a la carte in the Activities Office on Registration Day.

DANCE TICKETS
The "Back to School" dance will be in the PVPHS Gym on Friday, September 8th from 7:30 until 10:30 pm.  This dance sells out EVERY YEAR, sometimes well-before the day of the dance.  If you're interested in attending, we definitely recommend purchasing your ticket at Registration (see page 54 of the online PVPHS Registration Packet). Tickets are $15 on or before August 21st.

AGENDA BOOKS
The best way to stay organized this school year is with an Agenda Book!  We've added most of our school's events to the Agenda Book, so it will be very easy for our students to write down all of their assignments while they keep track of late starts, special schedules, and more.  Agenda Books are $15, and order forms are in the Registration Packet(Pg. 51).

NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION
Panther students and staff are excited to welcome all incoming students in grades 9-12 to attend the PVPHS New Student Orientation on Tuesday, August 22, from 8am until 12:30pm in the main gym!  Link Crew has worked hard to put together an incredible program that will help make the transition to Peninsula High a positive one.  Link Crew juniors and seniors have completed extensive training and will serve as mentors and leaders for freshmen and transfer students. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes because you will be ACTIVE.  Bring your class schedule, but leave all your other stuff at home....travel light!

ATTENTION ALL FRESHMEN: GET YOUR LINK CREW CARD WHILE YOU STILL CAN!
Don't miss out on all of the awesome events Link Crew has planned JUST for freshmen, including the Back to Zoo BBQ and Fresh Fest! The card costs only $25 and is available ONLY through registration using the Link Crew Order Form (page 55 of the Registration Packet). Make your check out to PVPHS Link Crew. If you have any questions, email Beckie Dibble, PVPHS Link Crew Coordinator, at dibbler@pvpusd.net

PRESSFRIENDS
PressFriends is an all-volunteer, student-run organization.  Since 2008, they have mentored over 3,000 underserved youth helping them write articles for their school newspaper.  You don't have to be a great writer to participate; you just need to like working with kids. To learn more about PressFriends read the  PressFriends Info Flyer.  Click here for more information about the new volunteer training that is being held on August 27.
