Minecraft
Saturdays in January
10 am - 12 noon
For the Minecraft program, with children under 12, caretakers
must remain in the building and
must sign in their child with a staff member. Minecraft is an online computer game unlike any other. It is a creative game. Worlds made out of individual blocks are generated. In these unique worlds players can build anything, mine anything, create anything, and interact with other players. The only limit is your imagination. A server for Fairfield County has been set up with a virtual world where the Minecraft community in Wilton can meet. Minecraft enthusiasts are welcome to join the Minecraft Computer Club on Saturday mornings between 10-12 noon to discuss and play everything Minecraft at Wilton Library.
Ages 8 and up. Please note: Minecraft is a subscription-based, online game. Players must bring their own laptop and create their own account. Hand held devices run on a separate Minecraft app and therefore will not be able to play on the same servers as children with laptops. To be added to the Fairfield County server you must visit the Children's Desk with a valid library card to be registered. Registration required

The Children's Library has new toys thanks to the generosity of our community members. Almost all of the tags were purchased from our Giving Tree. We invite everyone to stop by and see what is new!

Miss Jane recommends An Elephant Trio
If you have any elephant lovers at home you may be interested in a parade of new elephant picture books that have come to the library. All three stories deal with the sizable challenge of playing with an elephant.
"Have you seen Elephant?" by David Barrow, and A.H. Benjamin's "Oh, No, said Elephant," explore the weighty
problem of playing hide-and-seek with an elephant, while "When Your Elephant Comes to Play," by Ale Barba reads like an instructional of what not to do with your elephant.
While these three books share a similar storyline, their illustrations are quite unique. In "Have you seen Elephant?" author Barrow created stunning illustrations, every page a work of art. There is a cool vintage feel to Ale Barba's illustrations in "When your Elephant comes to Play," and Alireza Goldouzian paints vibrant pictures in "Oh, No, said Elephant." All three bookswill surely make a huge impression on your little ones.
