The Washington County Arts Council is pleased to announce

Maryland Symphony Orchestra to Present 27th Annual

"Home for the Holidays" Concerts on December 13 & 14;

 

Music Director Elizabeth Schulze and the Maryland Symphony Orchestra will kick off the holiday season with its 27th annual "Home for the Holidays" concerts on Saturday, December 13 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, December 14 at 3 p.m. at the historic Maryland Theatre in downtown Hagerstown.

 

This year's guests will be Colleen Daly, soprano; Rob Tudor, baritone; Hagerstown Choral Arts, and the Barbara Ingram School for the Arts Concert Choir. And, it wouldn't be an MSO Christmas celebration without the popular and spirited yuletide sing-along, led by Jolly Old Saint Nick himself.

 

MSO will collect donations for Toys for Tots and Salvation Army.

Comedian Ron White

Comedian Ron White, best known as the cigar smoking, scotch drinking funnyman from the Blue Collar Comedy phenomenon returns to The Maryland Theatre with his new stand-up show, NUTCRACKER. White has achieved three Grammy nominations, a Gold Record, two of the top rated one-hour specials in Comedy Central history, a book that appeared on the New York Times Best Seller List, and CD and DVD sales of over 10 million units. For mature audiences only.

"Drink Up" Exhibit Open at the Miller House

 

"Drink Up - A History of Alcohol Production and Consumption in Washington County" a recent exhibit presented by The Washington County Historical Society and Hagerstown Community College is now open to the public at the Miller House, 135 W. Washington St., in downtown Hagerstown. It will remain through December 30.

 

The exhibit will be open during regular hours of the Miller House Museum, Wednesday through Friday, from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday hours are by appointment and Friday walk-ins are welcome. It is recommended that visitors call 301-797-8782 before coming to make sure that staff or volunteers are available to conduct tours. Saturday group tours can be arranged by appointment. Admission prices are: $8.00 for adults, $5.00 for seniors and students. Visit www.washcomdhistoricalsociety.org.
