If you are under the County Election Board (CEB) for your elections you must file your election resolution by January 20th with the CEB. Election calendars and election information are available on the OML website. Guthrie to Host Oklahoma Congress of Mayors On January 20, 2017: Registration Open To Mayors, Vice Mayors, Councilmembers and Managers!

We hope you are making plans to attend the 7th Annual MCO Congress of Mayors, to be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Scottish Rite Temple in Guthrie.
An invitation to all Oklahoma State legislators, inviting them to witness this historic event.
Also, we have signed on many sponsors for the Congress and are able to present it to you at NO COST including breakfast and lunch. Additionally, each delegate will receive a Congress of Mayors lapel pin.

The 2017 OML Annual Conference will be here before you know it. We would like to get your perspective on what your overall experience at conference was and what topics or session tracks would be of interest to you this year.
Please tell us what you'd like to see offered during this session, whether it be a focus on
meetings, decorum, finance, social media, code enforcement, leadership, municipal partnerships or anything else that you believe would be of value to Oklahoma governing officials and city and town employees.

Municipal Court Fees Collection
|
The League has been contacted by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) regarding the decreasing number of A.F.I.S. (fingerprinting fee) and Forensic fees collected and remitted by municipal court. These fees are required by 20 O.S. Sections 1313.3 and 1313.4 respectively. Each fee is collected from any person "convicted of any offense, including traffic offenses but excluding parking and standing violations, punishable by a fine of Ten Dollars ($10.00) or more or by incarceration or any person forfeiting bond when charged with such offense." Each fee is $5.00.

Oklahoma One-Call Membership of Municipalities/Public Agencies
|
Membership Required by November 1, 2016
In April of this year, Governor Fallin signed HB-1951 into legislation which changes the Oklahoma Underground Facilities Damage Prevention Act §63-142 and requires all Municipalities (aka Public Agencies) with underground facilities/lines to become a member of the Statewide One-Call Notification Center (known as Oklahoma One-Call or OKIE811) and to locate their lines within 48 hours after receipt of notification. This law became effective November 1, 2016.

New Year, New Goals, New Leadership Class
Sign Up For Community Leadership Training Today or Become a Host City
|
The Oklahoma Municipal League is now taking applications for the Community Leadership Development (CLD) Class VI. The new class will begin April 6th and 7th. This exclusive community leadership class teaches strategies in areas of teamwork, community assessment and planning, economic development and tourism, and community renewal. CLD is an excellent opportunity for municipal officials, employees and community leaders to develop and improve on current leadership skills and styles. CLD's goal is for individuals to take what they learn back to their prospective communities to build and sustain strong cities and towns.
Community Leadership Development is a yearlong program that meets about every two months. Members will travel to six different cities across Oklahoma for class sessions. This is a great opportunity to see what other cities and towns in Oklahoma have going on, as far as tourism and economic development, all while developing leadership skills. The cost to participate in the program is merely $500. For complete details download the
