Hello FPA Members!

We would like to invite you to join us in Sacramento on Tuesday, March 7th for our fourth annual FPA of California Advocacy Day. You will meet up with fellow FPA members at the Embassy Suites near the Capitol and Riverwalk for a hosted breakfast and orientation. From there we will all head to the Capitol to visit with our State Senators and/or Assembly Members. Some of these meetings will be a continuation of previous conversations. Others will be to introduce ourselves and FPA of California to
them.

We have found during previous advocacy visits to Sacramento and local district offices that representatives and staff are generally open to hearing about financial planning and how we are different from others in the financial services world.

Why take time from your busy practice to join us in Sacramento for a day? Like anything in your life or business, RELATIONSHIPS matter and these meetings build stronger relationships with elected officials and their staff. When issues do arise (as they have and will continue), we are more effective in influencing the outcome when we already have those relationships in place.

** NEW ** Financial Support - The FPA of California is committed to helping our members engage in Advocacy on behalf of the Financial Planning Association.
While we are asking you to take a day off work and volunteer your time, this year we are pleased to be able to defer some of the travel and hotel costs (available to the first 50 members who register to join us in Sacramento).

In addition to the briefing the morning of the visit, we will provide you with a recorded webinar training that includes talking points and materials. For your information, here is a link to find your California elected official based on your district of residence (once on their website, click on the Contact Us tab)

Let us know ASAP if you'd like to participate. The Sacramento visit is March 7th and we need several weeks to arrange and coordinate all the meetings for all 50 attending FPA members (we usually send 2 or 3 members to each legislator office meeting in a tag team approach). To register, please complete the online form here.

We do have a block of rooms at a discounted rate at the Embassy Suites - available on a first come, first served basis for members who need to arrive Monday night to be ready for Tuesday morning. We will give you that registration information once you RSVP.

Mark your calendar now and plan to participate and enjoy an exciting day in support of our profession. We look forward to another successful Advocacy Day!

Sincerely,

John
