NAR Call for Action!

REALTOR Action Center

CALL FOR ACTION

Authority for the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) expires on September 30, 2017.

Long-term Reauthorization Is Critical.

Each lapse costs 40,000 property sales per month.

Without re-authorization, NFIP cannot issue or renew policies in 22,000 communities where flood insurance is required for a mortgage.

Please answer the national Call for Action on this issue right now and let our REALTOR® voice be heard!

NAR: Text Message Scam Alert

WARNING:  If you receive a text message asking for payment of a fine or sales tax on a prize, it is not from NAR.

In one version of the scam, a scammer levies false ethics accusations against a member and demands payment of a fine.

Additionally, NAR has seen versions of a text purportedly from NAR, telling the recipient they have won a prize (a car or a TV) sponsored by the National Association of REALTORS®. NAR has reported both variants of the scam to the FBI.

The National Association of REALTORS® urges its members and state and local REALTOR® associations to be on high alert for email, text, and online fraud.

If you receive one of these texts imitating NAR, please note the following - article continues here.

Salute to the Trades

This Labor Day, stop and think for a moment about who builds your inventory - plumbers, electricians, bricklayers, framers, et. al.  Where would we be without them?

The Spokane Association of REALTORS® proudly co-sponsors, with the Spokane Home Builders Association, this television spot, Salute to the Trades, to air on KXLY-TV leading up to and through the coming Labor Day holiday.

It's our way of saying "thank you" to the men and women who work hard every day to build our future.

Automated Valuation Models

A handful of organizations offer Automated Valuation Models (AVMs) yet not one is 100 percent accurate.

The truth lies in the types of data that AVM providers use to generate the AVM.

The Voice for Real Estate

President-elect Elizabeth Mendenhall and CEO Bob Goldberg said NAR must work with technology innovators to ensure future disruption keeps the role of real estate professionals central as the role of technology expands.

NAR is releasing a Call for Action to its members to advocate for passage of long-term flood insurance reauthorization in the House.

Also, a texting scam is targeting real estate, and brokers say virtual brokerages are becoming key competitors.
