The Bucket List - Do You Have One?

LORD, let me know my end, and what is the measure of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is.
~Psalm 39

Dear Friends~

Welcome 2017!  What are your hopes and dreams for this New Year?  Do you "do" resolutions?  I was looking through my movies recently and re-discovered "The Bucket List"; and will be using this movie to guide the meditation on Wednesday evening during the connect360 worship.  The Bucket List is a movie about two terminally ill men on a wish-list road trip of things to do before they  "kick the bucket"- thus the movie's title.  However, this movie is also about the delicateness and meaning of life.  If you could know your end-date, would you want to know it?  Would it change how you live today?  Psalm 39 (see above) is a meditation of David's on the fragility of humanity before God.  It ends in a prayer for a peaceful life.

As we enter a new year- if offers us a time to consider wiping the slate clean and starting over.  A new year offers us the opportunity to create a Bucket List of sorts- goals that we want to accomplish, not necessarily before we die, but rather this year.  Having a Bucket List reminds you of priorities, of what's important as the day-to-day busy-ness of life takes over.  The object of creating this list need not be a race against time, but rather an opportunity to maximize each day.

So, what might be on your TOP 10 List for 2017?  Consider joining us on Wednesday during connect360 to hear more about The Bucket List... and about discovering JOY!

JOY to the WORLD as we continue in the Season of Christmas!

~Pastor Linda
