Three ways to get free e-books and audiobooks for your devices

The MVLC OverDrive collection of e-books and downloadable audiobooks has grown by over 60% and is rolling out a new interface in February. Search for OverDrive in your app store then search for the Rowley Public Library to get started viewing and listening. If you don't find what you're looking for head on over to the Boston Public Library and register for an eCard. The BPL eCard allows you to download and stream books, movies, music and magazines using OverDrive, Hoopla, Zinio, and other vendors. Again, apps may be required for optimal playback. Finally, the Rowley Library participates in the Commonwealth Ebook Collection which includes both popular and scholarly items. You will need your library card and PIN to get started. If you have never changed it, your PIN should be the last 4 digits of your home or main telephone number. Call us or drop by if you need assistance!

Works of artist Douglas W. Johnson on display
From a distance, Douglas W. Johnson's works, ranging from still lifes to famous landmarks to landscapes, appear to be painted with dots of color, reminiscent of pointillism. But step closer to see they aren't painting at all. Mr. Johnson weaves his masterpieces on unique handmade looms using hundreds of thousands of tiny glass beads, creating truly unique works of art.
Student Art in Display Case for January
This month the Rowley Public Library is featuring works created by the budding artists from Pine Grove School. The display case will display pinch pots crafted by local kindergarteners. They first practiced making slab and coils with modeling clay before creating these pieces out of Crayola Model Magic Air Dry Clay. Each is unique in shape and painting style. Please enjoy the hard work of these emerging artists, which will be on exhibit through the month of January

But the past is hard to leave behind, and he succumbed to the dangers of the street. Pick up a copy at the Rowley Library today, or reserve one by clicking here , then join us for a discussion on Thursday, February 2, at 6:30 p.m. Our book group meets the first Thursday of each month, so check our web site for future titles.
