Performances
New Brunswick Chamber Orchestra presents "Dark Matter," the next concert in its Reframing Classical Music Salon Series on January 29. The afternoon features short works mixed with tastings, pours, and conversation in an informal atmosphere.

Performances
The New Brunswick Jazz Project offers more than 12 nights of free jazz this month at venues throughout the downtown, including Shirazette and Sonic Wallpaper at the Hyatt Regency on January 5.
Indiana Jones is heading to New Brunswick on January 8 with his whip, his hat, and a live orchestra at the State Theatre. The epic score will be performed live with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, enhancing the on-screen action.
On January 13, the State Theatre presents M.E. Live - Melissa Etheridge, one of rock music's great female icons.
Opera at Rutgers presents
Dialogues of the Carmelites on January 27 and 29. During the Reign of Terror - the French Revolution - a noblewoman joins an order of nuns and learns that religious vows are not a refuge from worldly fears.

Rutgers University Libraries presents a talk with author David Bianculli, TV critic for NPR's Fresh Air and TVWorthWatching.com on January 4. The event is free.

Open House is January 28.

The
49th Annual Rutgers Geology Museum Open House will take place on January 28 and includes
a mineral sale, kids activities, and a variety of lectures, including "Volcanoes and Life" and "Dense Gas in Distant, Dusty Galaxies." Events are free and
no pre-registration is required.
The
New Jersey Film Festival kicks off its spring schedule on January 28 with
Knights of New Jersey, a comedic, behind-the-scenes look at a troupe of Renaissance Fair actors.

Rutgers Recreation offers
children's swim lessons, rock climbing, birthday parties, and summer camps. Register today for classes beginning later this month.
Students 16-18 are invited to attend a Rutgers Pre-College Academy this summer. Choose from three intensive, one-week residential academies focused on engineering, STEM, or leadership.
Doktor Kaboom: Live Wire! The Electricity Tour visits the State Theater on January 21 for a romp through the history and fundamental principles of electrical energy.
