Dear Friends of Crayons to Computers,

Happy New Year!  We hope that you enjoyed a restful and relaxing holiday break and are excited to head back to your classrooms for the remainder of the 2016-17 school year.

Our Free Store and Mobile Outreach Program shopping shelves are filled with so many great products - everything from core basics to fun Thirty-One Bags and Lego Batman kits that are sure to be a big hit.  As a reminder, our Saturday Shopping Schedule is a bit different in January due to the various holidays - we are open this Saturday, January 7th for shopping.

We are also excited to share our new feature - Top 20 Teacher Highlights.  As part of our year long 20th Anniversary Celebration in 2017, we will highlight 20 different teacher's stories in this newsletter.  If you have a special project or a great story to share please pass this along to our Director of Marketing & Communications, Stephen Bernstein.

On behalf of the entire team at Crayons to Computers, we wish you happy shopping in 2017!

New Product Highlights
Thirty-One bags are very trendy, high-fashion accessories. Currently, we have limited quantities of totes, pouches, thermal bags and lunch bags. These products were part of a recent  Kids in Need Foundation   donation.

Lego building toys occasionally find their way into the Free Store, and this time we are featuring a Batman edition. This popular item would make a great classroom prize or incentive. This item was also part of a partnership with the  Kids in Need Foundation
Teacher Spotlight - #1
Jenny Clark,
6th Grade Teacher
Auction table with Free Store items and bid sheets.
In honor of our 20th Anniversary celebration in 2017 we will be sharing our Top 20 Teacher Spotlights throughout the year.  If you have stories to share please forward them on to Stephen Bernstein at Crayons to Computers.

Jenny Clark, a 6th Grade Language Arts teacher at Tichenor Middle School , has come up with a very clever incentive program for her class. She has incorporated items from the Free Store and the Mobile Outreach Program into a silent auction for her students. The kids earn and save "classroom money"  through good behavior and scholastic achievements, in order to bid on items of their choice. Instead of having a value placed upon each item which they could simply buy, they are driven to win the item through bidding. This inspires her students to earn as much as they can to help make that final bid a good one. Hats off to you, Ms. Clark, for coming up with a great learning and incentive mechanism for your class.

Winter Weather Policy
In case of inclement weather, Crayons to Computers will make a decision by Noon if the Teacher Free Store will close, independently of any school district.

If closed, Crayons to Computers will be listed in the general school and business closings on local news channels WLWT, WCPO and WKRC. Closings will also be pos ted via social media and on the Crayons to Computers
