 Holiday Social - HUGE Success

Over 150 people attended our Holiday Social on Wednesday, December 14th at the Hyatt Regency Aventine.  The event was filled with fun, awards and fundraising activities.  Through our annual raffle and silent auction, our members r aised $5,000 to sup port the kids at San Diego Youth Services.

The chapter also recognized the efforts of our many wonderful
volunteers.  Without their efforts, many of the programs and activities would not have been possible.  Therefore, the chapter thanks our Volunteer Members of Year.  They are:
  • Associate of Member of the year - Lydia Reyes, Stanley Security
  • Professional Member of the Year - Sherry Perkins, Organogenesis Inc.
  • Volunteer Member of the Year - Rachel Willis, Brad Stoner Painting
In addition, the executive committee (officers) gave special recognition to our "Unsung Heros." This new award is given to a volunteer who works quietly in the background unseen by the general membership, but their contributions are vital to the chapter success.  Thank you to our 2016 Unsung Heros:
  • Chiloh Baty, Dentons US LLP - Chair of Venues and Menus: Who Negotiates contracts, elects menus and handles logistics for all the meeting set up including food, av, room set up and more
  • Steve Milinkevich, Corovan Moving & Storage - CoChair of Communications Committee:  Steve was the key contact for the redesign of our website, while handling updates and postings of events and notices on our website.  In addition, he worked with members to provide access to the Members only section
And other highlights of the social included:
  • Recognizing our annual sponsors for their contributions to the chapter during 2016.
  • Membership Campaign:
    • Awarding a cash prize to the member who introduced prospective FM's to our chapter
    • Awarding a cash prize to the member who recruited the most new professional members.
  • Strive for Five - drawing for the member who attended five or more different events throughout the year.
All in all, it was a great event and members are looking forward to attending next year!
