Ellis Island Simulation Volunteers Needed
Hello 6th grade PRMS parents! We are excited about our annual Ellis Island Day here at Pioneer Ridge Middle School. This school year our event will take place on Friday morning, January 27, 2017. We usually need our great volunteers here by 8am that morning and our event is finished by 11am. If you are able to volunteer for those few hours that morning we would appreciate your generous support!
It is a unique and exciting way for all our 6th graders to learn about the history of immigration here in the United States and the role that Ellis Island played in this period of our history. Forms were sent home via our 6th grade social studies classes in early December and you can contact your child's social studies teacher to sign up.
Best Regards and THANKS SO MUCH!!
Mr. Lazzari and Mr. Moran

Showcase is Thursday, March 9th
The 2017 Showcase will be held on Thursday, March 9th, and traditionally, the PTO has hosted a silent auction and raffle. This is the major fundraiser for the Pioneer Ridge PTO, raising an average of $6,000 per year. For those of you who are new to PRMS, the Showcase is an evening where students showcase their successes in all areas of academics and the arts for their families. Band and choir concerts are also featured. All the money raised from the event goes towards the needs of our students.
The PTO is looking for individuals to form a Showcase PTO Fundraising Committee. We need parent volunteers for these key positions to make the evening a success:
1. Showcase Fundraiser Chairperson
2. Showcase Planning and Donation Gathering Volunteers
3. Showcase Volunteers the night of the event
All information for implementing the fundraiser (donation letter to businesses and parents, business contact list with detailed notes, silent auction spreadsheet and raffle spreadsheet) are on Google Docs to be shared with everyone on the committee, and is updated in real time.
Please respond to
[email protected] if you would like to be part of 2017 Showcase Fundraiser Committee. The Showcase fundraiser will also be discussed at the
next PTO meeting to be held on Tuesday, January 10th at 2:45pm in the commons area.
If you have any questions or would like additional information, please e-mail
[email protected]. Your suggestions or fundraising ideas are welcomed.
Thank you for your time!
