Ponderosa's Elliott Douglas named Photographer of the Year

The Colorado Student Media Association awarded Elliott Douglas from Ponderosa High School photographer of the year. Additionally, Katie Pickrell from Mountain Vista High School placed second and Mackenzie Brockman from Chaparral High School received an honorable mention.

The Board of Education honored several career and technical State Champions this week, including Future Business Leaders of America, the Technology Student Association, DECA and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. Click here to view State Champions
Douglas County High School's Bashaw invited to Washington, D.C.

Douglas County High School's Belle Bashaw, featured in Newsline a few weeks ago for the Gold Award she won from the Girl Scouts of America, is one of just eight Girl Scouts in the country-- and the only one from Colorado-- to be invited to Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. to exhibit her Gold Award project on supporting the bee population. CEO of Colorado Girl Scouts, Stephanie Foote, is accompanying her on the 3 day trip next month.
