Spring 2017 

What are we studying?

This semester in Women in the Word we will continue our study on the book of Jeremiah. Last fall we focused on Jeremiah's message that Judah was headed for unthinkable disaster and considered what to do when the country falls apart.

This semester we'll focus on the other part of Jeremiah's message:  that the Lord intends to  accomplish something wonderful through suffering and disaster.    Questions we'll discuss include: What good is faith?  Is hope for real?  What's so special about the Bible? And, why do I get punished for doing the right thing?

Newcomers are welcome!  You do NOT need to have attended the fall to join us.  Women in the Word is open to anyone in the community. Consider inviting a friend to attend with you!

Where do we meet?

 Women in the Word meets at Portio Church (see map on the side panel) on Wednesdays from 9:00-11:30 am starting January 25th and running through April 19th. The doors open at 9:00 am for childcare check-in and social time over coffee and tea. Bible study starts promptly at 9:15am. Dress is casual. 

What about children?

Childcare is available for an additional cost upon registration. Only non-crawling infants are welcome to join their moms in Bible study. All other children will be well-loved and cared for in spacious, contained classrooms at the church. Preschoolers will be led through the Old Testament using "The Amazing Adventure" children's curriculum.   We also have a homeschool classroom for older children. **** As of January 12th, Child Care is Full!!****

What does it cost?

 The cost is $15 for the study, $30 for the study plus 1 child in childcare,  or $35 for the study plus 2 or more children in childcare.  (The cost of Bible study covers printed material, childcare, and a donation to Portico Church for the use of their building.) *New this year, we have a homeschool classroom!

When should I sign up?

Deadline to sign up is Wednesday, January 18th. Childcare spots are limited and will fill fast!  Please register for the new semester even if you attended last fall.
