Keywords are terms and phrases that define a piece of content. 

They're useful in any copywriting or content, but especially important when writing for the web. Search engines feed on keywords for page results rankings, so the keywords you choose can drive readers to your website, blog, or social media platform for free. (Yay!)

I found it helpful to understand how keywords work before I set about choosing them for individual pages in order to weave them into my writing. 

Keywords help you match the language on your website to the language that readers use when they search for you.
