ND's Fall Drama and Winter Arts Celebration

Notre Dame has been busy on the stage for the past two weeks!  Last week, on Thursday, December 1, the Drama Club performed Save Us!, a play written by alum Dan Murphy '13.  The play was performed at Assumption parish, just down the road from ND, and it was a huge success.  The cast did a brief Q and A session after the show that was almost as entertaining as the show itself!  Congratulations to the cast, crew, and directorial staff for a great show.  The program for Save Us! can be found here.

The Winter Arts Celebration took place on Wednesday, December 7, and it was quite a show!  The Band and Chorus are sounding better than ever, and they featured music from a variety of sources, from Holst's The Planets and Star Wars: The Force Awakens to Queen and Pentatonix. The dance classes delighted audiences with numbers from Will Roger's Follies and Flower Drum Song (just to name a few), and our soloists and small groups kept the audience cheering all show long. Art work from our students was also on display. We even had some faculty participation!  Congratulations to all involved, and especially to Mr. ChubaMs. Hong, and Ms. Balliett for all their hard work. The program for the WAC can be found here.

Of course, a big thank you to those parents who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to help everything run smoothly.  The shows could not go on without you!

Thanks for your continued support and the constant reminder of why the ND community is so special.
STEM Club
Members of the STEM club discovered that engineers make use of triangular elements in their designs to overcome forces such as compression, tension, and torsion while building and testing spaghetti and marshmallow towers to hold a tennis ball. Congratulations to Manjot Singh and Lavi Nguyen who were the winners of this challenge! Their 17 cm tower held a tennis ball for 40 seconds.  The next STEM Club meeting will be on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 2pm in room 317. New members are welcome to attend.
