WHAT IS NEW THIS MONTH ON OUR BLOG PAGE?

ROLE MODELS I NEVER KNEW
After a little reflection, all of us can name those people who have had the greatest influence on our lives: parents, favorite teachers, etc. Sometimes, however, people who only touch our lives very briefly may have a significant impact as well.

SEEING THE ELEPHANT
I imagine that, for a great many people, blindness is "seeing the elephant." They can't imagine how they would confront it and doubt whether or not they would have the inner qualities to be successful in the same way I can't imagine climbing Mt. Everest. I know I don't have the requisite skills now.

NEWS
VIBES GOES TO OPEN STREETS KNOXVILLE
VIBES participated in this downtown event with pilots giving rides to those interested in experiencing a ride on a tandem.  Members and volunteers were also on hand to give out information about the good things that VIBES does.

SPOTLIGHT
MEET OUR PARTNERS
Club VIBES continues to introduce our partners for 2016.  This month we are introducing Dr. Ruth Bailey,  a local dentist who is very supportive of our program. She believes in helping out local families in our area in many ways. We so appreciate Dr. Ruth Bailey and her staff. Keep up the hard work and most of all thanks for giving us great smiles.

MEMBERS CORNER

TECH NEWS
TWEETING IMAGES WITH DESCRIPTIONS
On March 29, 2016, Twitter announced that description of images is now available when tweeting photos. This helps first and foremost the blind and visually impaired who cannot see images, but may also help people with certain cognitive disabilities who cannot interpret photos, but can make use of descriptions. Here's how describing your tweeted images works! Click here  to learn how to use this feature.
