Add Your Voice to Transform the Early Childhood Professional Development System
Get Involved!

Thanks to the hard work of many amazing people across Vermont, we are headed toward incredibly positive changes in our professional development system. CCV is currently working toward offering an array of services starting in January of 2018 to help support the professional development needs of the early childhood workforce. We believe that creating a good process and including many voices is the most effective way for us to build the right system to meet our needs today and into the future and we would like to hear from you. Here are a few ways you can add your voice to the conversation:
  • Join the Integration Workgroup: meets by phone and in person in Barre, at 8:30 AM, biweekly on Fridays for 90 minutes. Contact natalie.whitfield@partner.vermont.gov for more information.
  • Attend the Professional Preparation and Development Committee meeting all day on September 29 and November 17 meetings to focus on how to structure the PPD to provide support and governance to the early childhood professional development system.
  • To share a thought or comment directly, or to join a field conversation send an email to becky.millard@ccv.edu  Becky is the new Director of the Early Childhood Professional Development System at CCV.
Learn more about all of these groups and read a letter from Becky with more information HERE.

Want Educator Licensure through Peer Review?
Praxis Test Requirements Change

The Agency of Education announced that as of July 1, 2017, anyone seeking education licensure through Peer Review must complete testing requirements before submitting an application to participate in Peer Review. Exact testing requirements depend on the endorsement you are seeking - for candidates seeking an early childhood education endorsement, you must successfully pass the Praxis Core. As before, if you meet certain test score requirements from alternative tests (SAT, ACT, GRE), you may not need to complete the Praxis Core. Learn more about testing requirements HERE.

Learn more about Alternative Routes to Licensure: HERE.
