J ohnson Campus Security Team Brief

1. Johnson Campus Parking:
Monroe St directly in front of the school is strictly for  drop off, pick up, school buses, & deliveries and short-term parking only.
We ask that teachers, staff, substitutes, long term visitors, & volunteers park on one of the following streets that are in view of the LFNO Security Team cameras: Hickory St, Monroe Ct (by the empty lot), & Cohn St. Parking on Cohn St should be on the side of the street across from the school not next to the school building. If you are parked long term outside the view of our cameras, please inform the LFNO Security Team in the front office so that the patrol can be extended to that area. An external perimeter patrol is performed every hour.

2. Carpool:
We ask that as parents are picking up student/s in the afternoon please be courteous to other vehicle traffic in the neighborhood & in the carpool line. Please do not cut the carpool line, follow the prescribed traffic flow plan (on lfno.org), have your student sign visible in your windshield & please do not pull up on the sidewalk. Stay on the side of the roadway to keep pedestrian traffic safe in front of the school.

3. Walk up parents:
Please do not jaywalk; use the sidewalks and cross the streets safely & legally. Your student/s and your personal safety is our utmost priority.
Tip- Spruce St next to the S&WB Plant is always open for parking, easy to get in & out of, and only 1 block walk to & from the school campus.

4. General Johnson Campus safety:
All persons who are entering the school that are not LFNO Johnson Campus staff or teachers are required  to check in at the front office no matter the circumstance. The Johnson Campus front office is always staffed during school hours of operation. All visitors are checked in & issued a visitor credential/badge that must be worn at all times while on campus, and then turned in once you check out with the front office before exiting the campus.

If at any time you have a security or safety concern or issue, please contact us & inform us of your concerns. The Security Team will be glad to answer your questions to keep you informed & "in the know". Children are a blessing & our future, as it is an honor to be entrusted with your student/s security & safety, the LFNO Security Team are here to protect your little ones as if they are our own!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Thank you for your patience during a first day dismissal at the Johnson Campus. Yesterday we teamed up and brainstormed ways to improve the dismissal procedure, and the new plan is detailed below. We ask that you strictly follow this plan so that we can dismiss quickly and safely. Please note that it always takes a few days for dismissal procedures to normalize. We expect smooth operations as early as the beginning of next week.

Carpool:

The carpool driving route has changed - cars should drive down Hickory Street from Carrollton, past Monroe, make a right on Eagle, make a right on Cohn and one last right on Monroe and stop for pick up. Basically, circle the school property. Captain Jackson and officer Derek will assist with directing traffic.

Walk-in Pick-up:

If you pick up your child on foot, please enter (and exit) the building through the door closest to Cohn Street. Students will be lined up in this order:

Grade 3 and 4: in the large assembly room which you may enter in the middle of the first floor hallway;
Grade 5: in the first floor hallway;
Grade 6: in the music room;
Grade 7:  in the hallway next to the music room;

Bus Riders:

Students leaving school with the bus (WestBank and City Park bus) will line up in the hallway in front of the main office and safely escorted to the bus by a staff member.   Parents of WestBank  bus riders should inform the transportation team
transportation@lfno.org before noon if students should not take the bus on a particular day. Parents of City Park bus, please inform your parent liaison.

Unaccompanied students:

Students will be permitted to leave campus unaccompanied ONLY if the Unaccompanied Student Dismissal Request has been signed and returned to the office manager. This form can be found on the Parent Resources portal of our website www.lfno.org/handbook-forms.

Thank you for your cooperation and support and we strive to provide safe and efficient dismissal procedure.

Did you know?

Louis XIX was the king of France for just 20 minutes, the shortest ever reign - he ascended to the French throne in July 1830 after his father Charles X abdicated, and abdicated himself 20 minutes later in favour of his nephew, the Duke of Bordeaux.

By using refillable water bottles, our staff and students have saved a total of 72,325 from the landfill.
