Committee Sign-Up

SN-ICC has several committees for 2016 that do the work of the association.  They include EduCode, Public Outreach, Communications and Membership.  To get further details and to volunteer your time, go to the SN-ICC website by clicking here. Hodgson Returns

  Longtime local home building executive Nat Hodgson has returned to his duties as the executive director of the Southern Nevada Home Builders Association.  In March, he joined USI Silver State Specialties as branch manager; he retur ned to SNHBA in August. Hodgson is a past president of SNHBA. He was named executive director in July 2012 following the retirement of longtime association Executive Director Irene Porter.
Other staff changes at SNHBA:
Public Affairs Director Monica Caruso will retir e from the association a t the end of the year after 3 7 years of service
The association has promoted Matt Walker to vice president of government and community relations. He joined SNHBA in January 2015 to manage and direct the association's government affairs programs and policies.
Amanda Moss is now director of government affairs.

SN-ICC Seeks 2 Part-Time Employees

SN-ICC is looking for a new Executive Director to replace retiring Bob Benedict, and someone to fill the new position of EduCode Coordinator.

September Chapter Meeting to be Joint with SEASoN

You are invited to a joint meeting between SEASoN and the
SN-I SEASoN Logo CC. The meeting is set for Thursday, September 14, 2017. Werner Hellmer, PE, Senior Engineer with the Clark County Department of Building and Fire Prevention - Plans Examination Division, will be presenting "Updating and Validation of Clark County Unreinforced Masonry Inventory Phase II. He will cover the following;

- What is a URM? 
- Why should we be concerned about URM's? 
- State of Nevada Report 54 & Phase I 
- Status of Phase II and the future"

Scholarship Winners Receive Membership Certificates
 

Many of the 2017 SN-ICC scholarship winners attended the August 10 Chapter meeting to receive their membership certificates.  All winners are entitled to membership in the association through the year following their award.  
Solar Home Begins to Take shape

As you know, SN-ICC is a supporter of the UNLV Solar Home. Shown below are three photos of the progress of this year's project.

The Clark County Department of Building & Fire Prevention is recruiting and hiring additional personnel, having consultant contracts implemented to assist with plans examinations if necessary and, effective October 1, realigning the inspection areas.

In addition, Brenda Thompson will assume responsibility for the Administrative Code Enforcement Division and Sam Palmer will be responsible for the Building Inspection Division.

Here's an illegal plumbing installation at a commercial property. The tenant decided to install a domestic hand sink on the exterior of the building.
