Unpack & Unwind

It's a New Year with some new lodging options in the area to check out including vacation rentals and that new hotel you might have heard about.

The Burke Green House offers direct access to the snowmobile trails and is just a hop, skip and a jump away from the Nordic Trails and the slopes.   There's room for the whole group with 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and 2 living rooms.  And the dog can come, too!  Rates start at $250 per night.

XC Ski or Fat Bike just outside the door of the Burke View Inn located just minutes from the Village.  The Inn offers 6 guestrooms with private baths as well as a full kitchen, dining area and common area with a cozy wood stove for guests to enjoy.  This winter, you can even book a sleigh ride at the inn and let two beautiful Belgian horses lead the way.

Stay slopeside at the new Burke Mountain Hotel & Conference Center.  A range of room types are offered including deluxe studios with kitchenettes and fireplaces or 1 - 3 bedroom suites with full kitchens and balconies.  All rooms even feature a media hub.  The hotel offers secure ski storage, a fitness area, year round outdoor pool, family video arcade, onsite coffee shop, restaurants and more.
  Deal of the Month

Snowmobiling is a favorite tradition here in the North and a VT VAST TMA pass is your ticket to ride.   Once you try it, you'll see why folks up here are always cruising around through the woods, stopping along the way at local restaurants on the trails and eagerly chatting about their journey.  A 3 day pass is just $55 or get a season pass starting at $140.  It's a small amount to pay for hours and days of exhilarating outdoor fun.  Our local, all-volunteer snowmobile club, The Burke Driftskippers do an amazing job of grooming and maintaining the trails.  Support them by purchasing your TMA pass locally at shops here in Burke.   Visit www.vtvast.org to learn the rules and regs you need to know before you ride.

What's New in Burke?

There's some new stuff to check out in the area including a brand new coffee shop in the village.  Cafe Lotti opened just a few months ago and has been busy serving up lattes, cappuccinos, chai and other delights in a beautifully renovated, inviting space.  Stop by for a beverage or some fun on weekly game nights.

There's even a bakery in town these days!  Stop by Auntie Dee Dee's Homemade Vermont Baked Goods on the way to or from the mountain and enjoy a Burkie BLT, a lemon square, crostini or anything else on the menu.   Really, you can't go wrong here - it's all delicious and addictive!

Art and beer...it's the newest trend in the area.  Burke Publick House features monthly Brush n' Brew nights with various art projects taught by local artists.   Choose from a variety of microbrews on tap while you create a masterpiece to take home.

Juniper's Restaurant also offers Cocktails & Canvas on the occasional evening.  Stop by for fun, friendship, creativity and cocktails.

The new Burke Mountain Hotel features some new dining choices including The View Pub and Willoughby's Restaurant.  The Pub offers a casual atmosphere with items such as Corned Beef Poutine with Guinness Gravy, burgers, fish n' chips and Hungarian Goulash.  Willoughby's is open for dinner on weekends with fine dining menu choices including Tuna Carpaccio, Duck Breast, Portabella Wellington and an extensive wine list with top shelf options.

The Stepping Stones Inn has expanded their offerings over the last few months to include Reiki and drop in yoga including Barre and Mommy & Me classes.  Spa services include massage, reflexology, sea salt scrubs and more.

Burke Mountain Academy (BMA) just celebrated the grand opening of the Ronnie Berlack Center (RBC), a $2.8 million, 15,000 square foot, state of the art indoor athletic facility marking a new era for the athletic development of Burke student-athletes and ski racers around the country.  BMA also announced a comprehensive new partnership with the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association for year round training and development of elite ski racers from around the Eastern region and around the U.S.

Burke made the news a bit in 2016 and plenty of it was good news.  WCVB in Boston recently did a story on the area -
Click Here to check out the videos.   Expedia recently named Burke as One of America's Coziest Mountain Towns.   Of course, we made the list as One of America's Best Mountain Biking Towns!  Our local attractions, recreation and shops were well represented in the Annual VT Sports Black Diamond Awards.  You're sure to see us on that list in 2017 and lots of other press is sure to come as folks are discovering what we've known all along - Burke Rules!
