Genetic Genealogy Overview for the Columbine Chapter NSDAR 

The Columbine Chapter, named for the beautiful Colorado state flower, was founded March 21, 1953, in Denver, Colorado. We were established to provide Saturday meetings as alternative to weekday or week night meetings.

Our current membership includes women ranging from age 18 to 91. Our membership includes women who have a variety of interests which they share with our chapter.  We all have one thing in common and that is love of God, Home, and Country.

We come from all parts of the USA; each of us having proven our patriot heritage whose ancestors aided in achieving American independence through patriotic, civil or military service between 1775 and 1784.

We welcome any woman 18 years or older-regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background-who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution.

This will be an abreviated program, to briefly introduce Genetic Genealogy/DNA testing.  Optional DNA tests will be offered after the presentation, for a fee.

The course will be taught by Deena Coutant.    Deena is a full-time professional researcher and genetic genealogist.  She is passionate about connecting the past, present and future generations, through stories, photos, or by uncovering the DNA of those ancestors who were previously lost to history. She provides strategies to help her clients successfully discover, celebrate, share and properly preserve their families’ legacies, through both traditional genealogical research and DNA testing.
