COSI Volunteers Needed
Please consider volunteering for the COSI wheels program on  December 2, 2016.  We are excited to present COSI's The Incredible Human Machine for the 1st-5th graders at Summit.  This program is able to happen due to the generosity of Summit families during Summit Strong Walk-A-Thon.

Many volunteers are needed to make this day happen.  Come and enjoy interacting with the students while you help kids with hands on experiences. The Incredible Human Machine is designed to enhance students’ ability to make decisions that will improve their long term well-being. The program consists of a 45 minute interactive assembly followed by exciting hands-on activities that engage the students and encourage the development of Science Process Skills.

During the assembly, the following concepts and more will be explored:
- Examining the importance of the nervous system
- Exploring how food fuels the human body

If you are able to volunteer please sign up using the link below.

Anderson Theatre Opens with Sweeney Todd, School Edition!
This November, join us on the streets of 19th Century London as we present Stephen Sondheim's masterpiece,  Sweeney Todd!  This thrilling musical won eight Tony awards and features dark masterpieces like “The Ballad of Sweeney Todd” and comic treasures like “A Little Priest.” It tells the story barber Sweeney Todd's return to London after 15 years of exile, in order to take revenge on the corrupt judge who banished him. He conspires with a local baker, Mrs. Lovett, who is in desperate need of fresh meat for her pies!

With the School Edition, the content has been revised by the publisher to be appropriate for High School performers and audiences, while still retaining all it's chilling and dark beauty. The show is best suited for children in grades 5 and older. Tickets are $10, and are available by mailing in the attached ticket order form or by visiting  ShowTix4U.com.
Shop & Share is around the corner!
Looking ahead, Summit Elementary will, for our 5th year, be taking part in Shop & Share.

Shop & Share is a school wide service project to fulfill holiday wishes for those in need in our schools and community. We will be working in partnership with several other schools in the district. We will be collecting money, shopping for families and building a sense of generosity in our school community.  More communication will be coming out in November about this opportunity.

If your family is in a time where you would benefit from RECEIVING in Shop & Share, please contact Shannon Rooney, our school counselor at 474-2270 or shannonrooney@foresthills.edu before Tuesday, November 8th.
Family information will be kept confidential.
