NEW THIS WEEK
We realize there is a lot of information these first few weeks of school.
Thank you for taking the time to read the information provided.
We appreciate our informed parents.
WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL!
Wednesday Envelopes: The oldest child in your family will bring home a large envelope every Wednesday. Most of the time, the envelope will be empty. Occasionally there will be a form or flyer in it for you to review. This large envelope is your families vessel to return forms that YOU print (hot lunch, uniform orders, etc.) from the weekly e-newsletter and/or messages to the school office each week.
The Wednesday envelope must be returned to the classroom by FRIDAY of each week.
It is also very important to have a conversation with your child about taking the Wednesday envelope out of their back-pack to ensure it is turned in during the morning classroom routine.
FAMILY NAME PLACARDS!
NEW families will receive today in their Wednesday envelope a Name Placard for your car.
Using your name placard for PICK-UP is an important part of our pick-up process at the end of the day. Name placards should be placed in the FRONT RIGHT windshield as you pull up to the traffic circle. This helps our staff quickly and easily recognize the car and get your children into your vehicle quickly to keep the traffic flow moving. RETURNING families are NOT receiving new placards and should continuing using the one you have.
If you need a replacement, contact Ms. Carol in the school office.
SCHOOL DAY PARKING

SR parents may NOT park in the CN parking lots during school hours, 7am-2pm. St. Rose has only a few designated VISITOR parking spaces.   Overflow parking is available at Trione soccer fields across the street and you can walk in.

Fidget spinner reminder
As was announced last June, fidget spinners will not be allowed at school this year.
Although these objects were sold as tools to help students focus, we have found them to be a major distraction to learning. If a child brings a fidget spinner to school the teacher will send it back home. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in helping us to keep a school environment that is
conducive to learning.

LETTER FROM MRS. RYAN
Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2017 - 2018 school year at St. Rose Catholic School.

This morning we welcomed thirty-five new families into our community.  There are twenty eight new kindergartners along with new students in all other grades, except for eighth.

The teachers and I have spent the past few weeks planning for a fabulous school year.  Fr. Denis joined us yesterday for Mass and helped us to formulate our school-wide theme for the year which is The Mass - Invite, Celebrate & Live.

Through this theme, we will be learning more about the centerpiece of our faith, the Catholic Mass.  We will be exploring ways to deepen our understanding and our participation in the Mass.  There is a vibrant faith community down at St. Rose Parish with some wonderful people who would love to get to know us better and we are exploring ways to make this happen. You will be learning more about our plans in the weeks to come.

Dismissal went smoothly for a first day. If today was your first time picking up, I promise you that it will get easier.  Although school is out at 2:50 PM, there is supervision until 3:25 PM.  Parents who arrive between 3:00 and 3:15 PM usually find that there is very little traffic and they are in
and out of the circle in just a few minutes.

If you have not already received the name placard for your car, it will be coming home in the next few days. We really appreciate the families who use these placards.  Along with helping us to facilitate a smooth pick-up it also helps us to get to know your name. Please help us with this by displaying your placard on your dashboard as you drive through the pick-up lines.

Your children were absolutely delightful today.  It was great to see all of you.
