IT'S TAKE A LOOK TUESDAY!!

Today is 'Try It Tuesday/Take A Look Tuesday" and we want you to take a look at Strasburg Rotary!

Today Rich Orndorff, Chamber President, and I  had the pleasure of visiting one of our local
Non-Profit/Civic Organizations and  Chamber Member located in Strasburg, VA.  Rich and I were asked to be the Guest Speakers at Strasburg Rotary's weekly luncheon, by Rotarian Stacey Pangle.

This is a little different from some of our other Take a look Tuesdays, because this is an organization.  It may not have a storefront or office, but Strasburg Rotary and it's members do great things within our community and abroad.

We were greeted by President Brandy Boies with a bright smile and friendly hello, thanking us for coming.  We mingled with other members before we all said the Pledge of Allegiance, and sang "My Country Tis of Thee".  Jay Winkfield then blessed the food and we quickly settled into our table with Brandy and Stacey to enjoy our lunch.  Rich then Spoke about the Chamber and the role our Chamber plays within our community. The luncheon ended with "happy dollars"-sharing great news, a happy event, etc. and with everyone repeating the Four-Way Test.  Rich and I had a great time and look forward to visiting again! Thank you Strasburg Rotary for having us today!

The Strasburg Rotary meets every Tuesday
from 12:05 - 1 p.m. at the Strasburg Moose located at 572 Red Bud Road, Strasburg, VA

Here is some information about Rotary, as taken from their Facebook page. Visit their website by clicking here:  Click here for more information about Rotary and to join!

At weekly meetings, members catc h up with friends, hear what's happening in our community and share plans and exchange ideas for creating lasting change.

Being a Rotary member gives you the chance to develop skills like public speaking, project management, and event planning. You'll meet interesting people from your community and around the world. And you'll tackle local and international issues that are important to you and your fellow club members.

  Motto
Service Above Self

Of the things we think, say or do

Is it the TRUTH?

Is it FAIR to all concerned?

Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

So, if you like volunteering, want to make a difference in your community and abroad, and you are looking to join an organization, check out Strasburg Rotary!!

Make sure to check out our group #strasburgrocks on Facebook

Welcome to  #strasburgrocks ! We are excited to launch #strasburgrocks to our community. This project has been in the works since June with a lot of attention to detail to make this a fun and successful activity to carry on throughout the year. #strasburgrocks is an activity that includes Chambers across the country, and the Strasburg Chamber of Commerce is proud to be a part of this movement.
The #strasburgrocks project was initiated with the goal of bringing our co mmunity together through art, by painting rocks and placing them throughout Strasburg. You don't have to have an abundance of artistic talent--just a willingness to share the love!!
The rules are simple: Once you paint your rocks, you can place then anywhere in town, just please be courteous and respectful of other people, business areas, or properties. If you find a rock you like, you can keep it-as long as you replace it with a new creation of your own. We have several businesses and community organizations that are participating as well. We will keep an updated list within this group for those participating. If you find a rock with a Chamber logo please return to the office for a small gift. Businesses and organizations are also giving away discounts, small gifts, etc. if you return their rock to them. Remember, if you redeem a rock for a gift, you do not get to keep the rock, and you must paint a rock with your own design to put out in the community for someone else to find.
The Chamber will be offering FREE rock painting classes for children and adults thanks to Strasburg Library volunteers and our Chamber board members. We will post available dates within the group. We hope you find our project inspiring---whether it moves your heart or your feet.

We have lot's of great business's already participating!

Let us know if you or your business are interested in participating in our rock redemption program.  Contact Angie at the Chamber Office  540-465-3187 or email   Click here to email the office

Make sure to take advantage of this opportunity to have your favorite rock find in the Northern Virginia Daily!!
