Join us for a program focused on American-based composers would not be complete without Barber's Adagio for strings and some Gershwin. Caroline Shaw, a New York-based musician who is the youngest-ever winner of the Pulitzer Prize, opens this program which concludes with the precocious "opus 1" trio by the most gifted child prodigy since Mozart: 13-year old Erich Wolfgang Korngold.

Just two years after Gulliver's Travels was published by Jonathan Swift, it was set to music by Telemann, which became an instant sensation (and who wouldn't want to follow Gulliver on his exciting journey?) Violist Nokuthula Ngwenyama performs her own work, Sonoran Storm, while the program will close with Mozart's darkly personal G minor viola quintet.
