The Official NASW Training (via webinar) on the 2017 Revisions to the Code of Ethics is Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

The 2017 revisions to the NASW Code of Ethics reflect the most substantive changes to the Code since 1996. NASW will host this official training on the 2017 approved revisions, October 25, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm ET. Nationally acclaimed social work ethics experts, and Code of Ethics Revision Task Force members, Dr. Allan, Barsky, Dr. Frederic Reamer, and Dawn Hobdy will provide an extensive overview of the revisions, the rationale for them, and the implications for social work practice and administration during a live online broadcast. You don't want to miss this interactive discussion. 
 
After participating in the webinar, you will be given further instructions on how to apply for 2.0 hours of social work ethics continuing education credit upon  completion of this free program. There will be a cost associated for CEUs: $25/members and $40/for non-members.

Human/Animal Bond Research Study 

You are invited to participate in a research study examining clinical social workers' perceptions of training needed to include animals in practice, and
the factors clinical social workers use in determining whether to include animals. The researchers are seeking input from social work practitioners who provide direct services to clients.

Prepare Beneficiaries for the New Medicare Cards

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is removing Social Security numbers from Medicare cards to prevent fraud and identity theft and to protect private health care and financial information of Medicare beneficiaries. New Medicare cards will be mailed between April 2018 and April 2019. Each card will include a Medicare number unique to the beneficiary, the Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI).
