PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dr. Ray

All Gwinnett County Schools will observe the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday on Monday,
January 16. We hope that you enjoy your last day off before second semester officially starts.

The first day of second semester classes for all GOC students begins on Tuesday, January 17. The regular Learning Lab schedule on campus will also resume this day. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school ready to "Power their Potential"!

GOC SPRING SEMESTER COURSE ACCESS IMPORTANT CHANGE!!

Students will have access to all courses for 2nd semester beginning today, Friday, January 13.
  • Students will need to complete the Orientation Unit in their HOMEROOM
  • Students will need to submit the following in each
    individual COURSE
    1) Student Information Sheet
    2) Orientation Quiz
This is a change from 1st semester. Due to changes made by Desire 2 Learn, students must take the quiz in each class to access content. It should only take students a few minutes to complete this task in each course. GOC appreciates your understanding that this is an unavoidable step in the process to release the course content.

If students do NOT submit their information sheet and do NOT take the orientation quiz, they will not be able to access their course content.

Please check your course news announcements for further details.

GOC INCLEMENT WEATHER PROCEDURE

Due to the unique learning environment at Gwinnett Online Campus, students have access to course content 24/7. In the event of a GCPS closure due to inclement weather, the GOC building will be closed. However, Gwinnett Online Campus will continue to deliver instruction and maintain its regular online school schedule. Learning Labs will still continue virtually. If there are widespread power outages in Gwinnett County, a plan for makeup days or extensions for due dates will be communicated as soon as possible on the GOC Website, Facebook, and Twitter. Extended deadlines are built into many of the courses which already allows flexibility in the case of brief power outages. In the event that individual students experience outages that last for more than a few hours, work extensions will be handled with students on an individual basis.
