The McGill Summer Institute short courses feature internationally known faculty, a focus on highly applicable new knowledge, and an opportunity to network with fellow global health professionals from around the world.

The Roux Prize is a US$100,000 award launched in 2013 to recognize individuals or groups who have used disease burden evidence to take actions that make people healthier.

The Centre for Global Child Health (C-GCH) at The Hospital for Sick Children is recruiting fellows for the Academic Global Child Health Fellowship training program for the start date of July 2018. This interdisciplinary program will be accepting applicants from a variety of clinical, health care, research, and other related professional backgrounds (e.g. MDs, nursing, allied health, epidemiology, etc.)

The Lancet is publishing a landmark report by the Global Commission on Pollution + Health this spring on pollution, the leading cause of death and disability in the world. It is responsible for taking 10 million lives every year, primarily in low and middle-income countries. This figure is still an underestimation. To showcase this challenge and fill in gaps in the data, the Commission is inviting people affected by pollution, especially those living in low and middle-income countries, to submit photos and stories describing its effects in their communities. A crowd-sourced collection of stories, images and captions will help transform the data in the Commission report, showing how human life is harmed by pollution. National Geographic is collaborating with us through their "Your Shot Hashtag Challenge." 

The Seattle-based Center for Health Trends and Forecasts (CHTF) is seeking proposals to fund social science projects examining social, economic, and health disparities among aging populations in various countries. These one-to-two-year pilot projects will evaluate health disparities on state or provincial (subnational) levels. Funding is provided by the U.S. National Institute of Aging (NIA) and will range from US $15,000 to US$75,000 for each project.

RSTMH aims to support clinicians and scientists in all disciplines of tropical medicine and global health. This includes the relationship between human health and animal health, in the pursuit of themes of clinical or scientific research or fieldwork. RSTMH will consider applications for travel and training scholarships (up to £1,000) and small grants (up to £5,000) such as pump-priming grants, pilot studies or discrete elements within larger projects.
