Wildcat Theatre - Legally Blonde, Jr.  April 7 & 8
Stage Crew Partner
Drama club is looking for a stage crew parent to team up with the fabulous Roberta LaPlante! All you need is a little creativity, one free hour a week, and be able to be at tech rehearsals  April 2-6 and the two performances on  April 7 & 8. The set has a very simple design as no backdrops are needed. Please contact Ms. Daigle if you have any questions or you are interested. The 35 hardworking, talented kids in drama are thankful in advance for your consideration.

Carpenter/Woodworker
Legally Blonde Jr. needs six acting blocks made and donated. The best part about these blocks? They will be used year after year and in every production and rehearsals from here on out as they can be painted multiple times. Dimensions 24" x 24," two handle holes. They don't even have to be painted as our stage crew can do that! Please contact Ms. Daigle if you are interested!

Modeling Call
If your child is interested in modeling an outfit for our Fashion Show, please send in his or her permission slip as soon as possible. This is the last call.

Save the Date
We are busy planning for this year's Fashion Show and Auction "Wear'n of the Green", scheduled for Friday, March 17. This is our largest fundraiser for Nashua Catholic, and we hope that you mark your calendar and bring family and friends.

Tickets for the Fashion Show go on sale on Tuesday, February 7th, at noon, in the school foyer. They will also be sold at the mandatory meeting for all student models and their parents that evening at 6 p.m.  Tickets sell out quickly, so if you would like to attend the show, plan to purchase your tickets on the 7th of February or soon after in the foyer office.

The Fashion Show Auction is looking for donations
Please consider helping, whether by offering a donation through yourself or your business, or by helping us procure items. We are looking for such things as spa treatments, restaurant gift certificates, wine baskets or theater tickets. Perhaps you
have a talent or skill you could teach a lucky winner for a day like archery or fly fishing lessons. Do you have a condo that you might consider donating a week to the auction? We welcome your donations to make this a successful Fashion Show and
Auction.

Writers' Club Starts This Month

Writers' Club is meant to be a venue for students who like to write (creative writing mainly)  to share their work with their peers and gain support and encouragement for their efforts.  Mrs. Pinsonneault, advisor to the group, says she is, "a quiet observer."  The students bring their personal writing and share it by reading it aloud to their peers. All would-be writers are welcome.

Bees and Competitions

Scripps National Spelling Bee 2017
The Nashua Catholic Spelling Bee took place during study hall on January 12, 2017.  Many difficult words were presented by Mrs. Maloney, and all the participants did a worthy job of tackling them.  After many rounds, two students remained: Amelia Ballingall and Helena Bichrest.  Amelia Ballingall finally won by spelling "negativism" correctly.   She will, therefore, represent Nashua Catholic at the State Bee, at the Capitol Center for the Arts, in Concord, New Hampshire, on February 25, 2017, beginning at 9:00 A.M.  Mrs. Maloney wants to thank all the students who took the time to prepare for and participate in this year's school-wide bee.  Well done, all of you!  Congratulations, Amelia!

B. Pinsonneault, Spelling Bee Coordinator

Athletics - Wildcat Update for January
The end of the regular season is right around the corner for our basketball teams. With only a couple games remaining on the schedule, the pressure is beginning to mount to make that last ditch push for a playoff berth. Both our boys' and girls' basketball teams are right on the edge of the playoff picture, with their final regular season home games taking place Thursday, January 19th at Nashua Catholic.

Our Wildcat wrestlers are looking to carry some momentum with them in the time leading up to the Tri-County Championship meet on January 29th. This team is coming off a dominant performance in Milford, where the team nearly won every match they were entered in. With an attention to detail and a passion to get better, our wrestling team is excited to move forward and take on what the competition has to offer them.
HELP WANTED!
Spring sports are just around the corner and Nashua Catholic still has a few coaching opportunities available!

Head and Assistant(s) Track and Field Coach The head coach would work with the athletes to better their form, endurance, speed, power, or jumps during practices and meets. Practices are typically right after school from 3-4:15 P.M. either four or five times a week. Without an actual track on site, the coaches can utilize local neighborhood roads for runs of various lengths, along with the NC grounds for throwing and jumping events. The head coach would also be responsible for placing athletes in their designated events and entering them into the meets throughout the season. Coaches may also be asked to lead certain events at meet locations to help with the timely flow of larger meets.

Softball Assistant Coach  We are looking to fill the position of assistant coach for our Wildcat softball team. Duties would include helping Coach Carew with lineups, scorekeeping, drills, and running occasional practices. Softball is typically at least 3 or 4 times a week, with games on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Head Golf Coach  Nashua Catholic is looking to fill the head coaching vacancy for our competitive golf season. Practices consist of practice rounds on course at Green Meadow, driving range time at Green Meadow, or driving range practices at Golf and Ski Warehouse in Tyngsboro. Head coach is also tasked with helping to transport athletes and equipment to practices and matches.
If interested, please send an electronic copy of your resume to Mr. Ryan Farris at [email protected] or at (603) 882-7011.
