Chicago's Checkout Bag Tax

A friendly reminder that starting on February 1, 2017, the City of Chicago will be implementing the Chicago Checkout Bag Tax, a $.07 tax on all disposable paper and plastic bags used in Chicago.

Learn more about the new Chicago Checkout Bag Tax and don't forget to bring your own bags when you're out and about shopping on the corridor!
Chicago Snow Corps

It may not be your favorite time of year, but it's always a good time of year to be neighborly, especially during the winter season! Do you know of any neighbors or seniors who may need assistance with snow removal? Chicago Snow Corps connects volunteers with residents who need help with clearing their snow. Lend Some Warmth to Your Community this Winter
Next Door Chicago | 659 W. Diversey

Bring gently-worn coats to the Next Door host stand on January 15 and February 19 for a free drink from their cafe! Coats will be donated to Button & Zipper, a local non-profit that delivers coats to homeless and at-risk youth organizations in Lincoln Park and Lakeview.  One to five coats will get you one cafe drink; more than five coats will yield two free cafe drinks! 

Next Door has already reached their goal of collecting 300 coats and is aiming to collect 450 by February 28, so bring 'em by!
Help BankFinancial Support Local Charities

During the month of January, all BankFinancial  locations  will be collecting funds for Care For Friends and items for the Lincoln Park Community Shelter. In addition, associates are encouraged to wear jeans on Friday, January 27 th and make a donation to Care For Friends, so be sure to stop by and support the cause!

If you'd like to make a donation to either of these charities, you can do so at BankFinancial's Lincoln Park branch, 2424 N. Clark.
