Celebrate New Year's Eve
at Unity Athens
from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Preparation for the New Year as we release that which no longer serves us into the Burning Bowl, and meditate on what we are welcoming into our lives in the year ahead.
Our New Year's Morning (11:00) service focuses on release of the "old," celebration of the New, and receiving guidance and clarity on what you choose to create in the weeks, months and year ahead. Includes a Burning Bowl, a White Stone Meditation, and time to formulate your "Vision for 2017" list, if you choose. Music by creative songstress Jennifer Ferren.
What is a VISION 2017 Letter? We provide free paper and envelopes or use your own. Write down what you'd like to see manifest during 2017 and beyond. Use detail and think about what it will feel like to have these dreams come true. Seal your letter in a self-addressed envelope and leave it in the special box at Unity Athens. We hold it for a year, pray over the box, and mail it back to you, unopened, at the end of 2017.
How to Prepare for Burning Bowl Ceremonies
held at our New Year's Eve (7:00 p.m.)
and Morning (11:00) services. Think about what you'd like to "release," i.e., what no longer serves you. Write it on the special paper we will give you and toss it into the Burning Bowl (complete instructions given at the service).
The morning service includes a White Stone Ceremony -- receive guidance for a new "name," symbol, or "way of being" for 2017 and beyond.
What is a White Stone Meditation? The ceremony is derived from a teaching
mentioned in Revelations. You choose a small white stone from the assortment we have of stones quarried in Israel, near Hebron & Jerusalem. Hold it in your hand during our meditation and be open to guidance from Source about the immediate future and new year.
One may get the thought of a new name, a new way of being, a nudge toward a different way of living and expressing. In ancient times the new name was written on a white stone tablet, and indicated one's freedom from the past. You can write your "name" on your stone & take it home. You may also choose to meditate more with it at home before decorating /writing on it. It is yours to keep.
2017 TREASURE MAPPING /VISION BOARD WORKSHOP, Sun Jan. 8th, 1:00 to 3:00. CommUnity Room. Always a popular hands-on workshop. Creative fun as we "picture" what we'd love to see in our lives. Some folks like to do prep work at home - start collecting images, magazine pictures, words, & computer printouts of things you like. We'll also supply magazines to cut up, glue, scissors, poster board. Some people also like to bring a sketch-paper type book or binder to continue to fill in the future. Try to bring a photo of yourself, smiling, to add to your collage. Suggestion donation between $5 and $10 but no one will be turned away. Bring a lunch or run out for a quick bite after the service!
"HOLIDAY LUNCHES" Join Rev. Bronte & other Unity-minded folks for coffee, tea or lunch plus positive conversation at our last "Holiday Lunch" Wed., Jan. 11 from 1:30 to 2:30 at Jason's Deli on Hawthorne. Let us know if you're interested -- or just show up!

t 3 of the just-released Abraham-Hicks DVD, "Clarity" from their 2014 Alaska Cruise. Enjoy a spiritual message in a casual, relaxed atmosphere. Movies are often followed by time for discussion.
Suggested cost is $5.
VERY SPECIAL EVENT: We are delighted to have Matt Venuti performing for our 11:00 Sunday service on the morning of January 29th. Please mark your calendars!
On Sunday evening, Jan. 29th, Unity Athens is also co-hosting an evening of his music with the Healing Arts Centre at their location, 834 Prince Avenue, Athens. There's a reception with beverages and snacks from 6:30 to 7:15 with the concert from 7:30 to 8:30. Cost is $10.

Project Safe Christmas Giving: The folks of Unity Athens once again generously supported the children and families of Athens-based Project Safe (families affected by domestic violence) by filling their Holiday wish lists with delightful things. We are so grateful for all who contributed to this year's project. Thank you!
