Chispa: From Havana to Lima

Come experience Latin Jazz and Salsa Criolla on Jan. 14, when internationally acclaimed jazz musicians Bobby Shew and Doug Lawrence, and master Cuban musician César Bauvallet will be joined by other world-renowned musicians. Tickets are $22 or $27.
 

 
On Thursday, Jan. 12 at 7 pm, come watch Chico & Rita. A lifelong affair-of-the-heart between Chico, a piano player, and Rita, a vocalist, takes the protagonists through "Havana in its pre-Fidel days of big spenders, New York in the heyday of jazz, Paris when foreign musicians were hot, [and] Vegas in its early golden years."

Come learn footwork, partner skills and choreography on Tuesday, Jan. 10, during Cuban Salsa dance class. Saturday, Jan. 14 from 1-2 pm, is Saturdays in the Museum where visitors can get a guided tour of our exhibits. And Thursday, Jan. 12, from 10-11 am, is  bilingual preschool storytime. The books will be  Arrorró, Mi Niño: Latino Lullabies and Gentle Games and Maybe I'll Be/Tal Vez Seré.
