CHANUKAH CHAGIGA
The annual Chanukah Chagiga was a night to remember. Our Multi-Purpose room was transformed into a veritable farm! In addition to horses there was hay on the ground and a farm stand. The entertainment included a "moo"ving story, "egg"cellent games, square dancing, refreshments and souvenirs for all "cowgirls".

UNIT PRICING
Hats off to Mrs. Cohen and Mrs. Reischer for inspiring their classes to produce magnificent models of items sold in the marketplace. These teachers challenged their students to see how much money can be saved by buying the same product in different size packages. It is amazing to see how creative our young ladies are.

BULLETIN BOARD PROJECT
Tremendous credit is extended to the 7th Grade mechanchos for directing
their students to create magnificent bulletin boards: Each class portrayed a different theme.

GEOGRAPHY BEE

And the winners are...
First Place: Chaya Nelkin, Grade 8.
Second Place: Aliza Abrams, Grade 7
Third Place: Rikki Berry, Grade 6

Each contestant did themselves proud as they answered each question clearly. It is unusual for t he top 3 place winners are representatives from each Middle School grade. Thank you very much Mrs. Grace Weissmann for coordinating the entire program. Congratulations to all the winners.
ASARA B'TEVES PROGRAM
We use Asara B'Teves as an opportunity to speak with our girls about our most recent Churban, the Holocaust. On Monday, January 9th the students viewed the video, " Rescue and Neglect". The video clearly documented the sad reality of how the American government did far too little in trying to save European Jewry. On the other hand, the incredible determination of a few individuals, helped save thousands of lives.

The highlight of the program was a lecture given by Mrs. Ruth Goldstein, a survivor of Auschwitz and Birkenau. She emotionally yet clearly recalled her horrendous memories. One could hear a pin drop as she spoke. Our gratitude goes to Mrs. Brenda Sherman for connecting us with Mrs. Tayna Goldstein, who brought this meaningful program to Bais Yaakov.
