Director's Message
Attendance and Tardies
Regular attendance and arriving to school on time is vital to a student's success in school.  When your child is absent or late valuable learning time is lost.  In order to take full advantage of your child's education at LBCS, it is essential that your child maintain regular attendance along with arriving to school on time.
With this in mind, we will be closely monitoring attendance records. We will be following up with parents/guardians in regards unexcused absences, excused absences, tardies, and late arrivals.  Letters will be generated during five different periods of the school year.
  • Excused Absences & Late (30 min or more) - Letters will be generated at 5, 10, and 20 or more times in a school year.
  • Unexcused Absences & Late (30 min or more) -Letters will be generated at 3, 5, and 8 or more times in a school year.
  • Tardies (under 30 min) - Letters will be generated at 5, 10, 15 or more times in a school year.
Truancy:  In California, a student is truant if they are absent or tardy by more than 30 minutes without a valid excuse on 3 occasions in a school year.
If you receive a letter, please contact my office so we can work with you in maintaining the best possible attendance record for your child. Helping your child achieve their academic potential is essential to us.
Adopt -a-Family
We made a difference as a school community this past holiday season!  We were able to support several families as supporters of Adopt-A-Family.  Thanks to your generosity, families did not have to go without gifts or food for their children at Christmas.  The Adopt-a-Family Coordinator sent us a letter expressing their sincere appreciation for our partnership with them this year!  A huge thank you to Mrs. Brink for leading this amazing opportunity to help others in need. Below is a picture of all our gifts that were delivered.
