January 2017                    National Association of Women Business Owners, Ventura County

~ President's New Year's Message ~

I hope you had a wonderful Holiday Season. I know I did! Our annual NAWBO VC holiday party was wonderful with tasty Indian food and wonderful attendance by our membership. Thank you to our Program Director Doris Muna, who did a fantastic job organizing this event. I hope each of you reached out to the person who's gift you received. What a great idea Doris!

As we ramp up for 2017, please take note of these great events that you don't want to miss.

Dinner Meeting is January 24th
This month we welcome two engaging speakers. Our very own NAWBO VC member and Public Policy Director Jill Friedman will be joined by Steven P. Lee, both from our corporate partner, Myers, Widders, Gibson, Jones & Feingold, LLP. They will be tackling the often confusing topic for many of us - "Do I have employees or are they independent contractors?" Click on the image above to secure your seat and consider bringing a guest!

Members-Only MB2 Racing is February 1st
We are having an invigorating member's-only event on Wednesday, February 1st, 6pm-8pm. We'll be go cart racing and best of all,  it's FREE! If you're not sure you want to get behind the wheel, that's ok, please join us to watch and cheer on the drivers. You will be able to sign up at the dinner meeting or contact me to sign up !
