We will tailgate at

From Fr. Jeff:
Have you shined your light today? Jesus is the light of the world, but that light is often seen through the actions of faithful people. This is why God chose Israel to be a light to the nations and why God chooses us today to reflect that same light. We live in a dark world where people are constantly trying to snuff our light out. You can probably think of a handful of people who have tried to that just in the last week. But the light of Christ cannot be extinguished, and that light shines through you. Whenever you go out of your way to flash a smile, or help someone in need, or tend to someone who is angry or sad, that light shines. Don't wait for darkness to come to you, though. Start shining now. Think of a couple of ways you can shine Christ's light and love right now. It may be the difference someone is hoping for.

Steward of the Month
Beth Brown
Beth is a Vice President of Synovus Trust Company in Columbus. She and her husband, Kin, a member of the Vestry, have been loyal and faithful members of St. Nicholas for many years.
Beth successfully chaired the 2017 St. Nicholas Stewardship effort. Stewardship continues to be one of the most important missions in our church with the goal of creating a balanced budget each year.
Beth brought many new and imaginative ideas to the 2017 program including the creation of a setting to allow our congregation to better connect with one another. Beth suggested having small informal lunches, "cottage meetings" for eight to 12 church members.
The goal was to discuss ideas concerning church missions while creating an atmosphere allowing better connecting between fellow St. Nicholas members.
Beth's leadership during this whole process is greatly appreciated.

Religion is not a method, it is a life, a higher and supernatural life, mystical in its root and practical in its fruits; a communion with God, a calm and deep enthusiasm, a love which radiates, a force which acts, a happiness which overflows.

Mobile App Installation Instructions
Church members can view the St. Nicholas Church Directory from their iPhone, iPad, Android or Kindle Fire by downloading the free Instant Church Directory Members App.
You may search for "Instant Church Directory" in the Apple App Store, Google Play, or Amazon Appstore, or use this link:
After installation, open the Instant Church Directory icon (it looks like a church). It will ask for your email address. If your email address is in our church directory, the program will generate a password for you and email it to you.
This worked great for most, but if you have any problems make sure you first check to see that your email address is in the church directory.
