This course provides a comprehensive overview of essential IRA and qualified retirement plan information. Key topics covered include fiduciary considerations, the retirement market, defined benefit (DB) pension plans, defined contribution (DC) plans, distributions from IRAs, DC and DB plans, individual retirement accounts or annuities (IRAs), retirement income and required minimum distributions (RMDs), beneficiaries and rollovers.
Learning Objectives:
* Understand the various standards of investor care that exist in the retirement savings industry * Understand the changing retirement landscape in the US * Identify the various types of retirement plans * Recognize the various features associated with different types of retirement plans * Pinpoint when distributions are allowed and/or required from retirement plans * Understand the key considerations of completing a rollover * Identify options for beneficiaries of retirement assets * Summarize the tax treatment of retirement plan assets

Insurance Credits: This program which includes self-study, on-site course review and exam offers 17 CT Insurance CEUs for CT State Residents and 15 NY Insurance CEUs for NY State Residents. Please come prepared to show photo ID.
CFP Credits: This program which includes self-study, on-site course review and exam has been accepted by CFP Board for 5 hours of continuing education credit. 
IMCA Credits: This program offers 5 IMCA CEUs.

noon  on Thursday, September 7, 2017.
IMPORTANT: 
This is a mandatory deadline for NY Insurance CE registrants; registrations cannot be accepted after this date.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY
If we must cancel this meeting, an email will be sent to all registrants and we will attempt to contact each registrant by phone.
If you must cancel your registration, we will issue a refund minus a $25 administrative fee. No refunds issued after 9/6/17.
