Bordine's D onates  $5,100 to Benefit
Assistance League®  of Southeastern Michigan

Bordine's grows plants and flowers. Assistance League® of Southeastern Michigan grows generosity and community-based support. These longstanding organizations joined together in philanthropy, holiday spirit and community commitment at the sold-out Bordine's Holiday Extravaganza where 500 guests shopped for a cause.

Bordine's President Calvin Bordine presented Assistance League with a $5,100 donation to continue its mission to provide clothing, food, educational support and comfort to nearly 22,000 children and adults each year.

"The charitable people at Bordine's have always been such engaged and supportive corporate citizens," said Marjorie DiLiddo, president of Assistance League. "This generous donation will be used locally to make sure people in need receive support and relief. We are grateful to Bordine's for caring about its surrounding community."

The Holiday Extravaganza featured food samples from local restaurants, creative holiday displays, music, games, and raffles. "The festive displays certainly put us in the holiday spirit. It's like walking through a winter wonderland," said Violet Cholakian, Assistance League member and volunteer. "Bordine's makes gardens brighter and lovelier. Their generosity makes lives brighter as well."

Both Bordine's and Assistance League are based in the Rochester Hills area, but their community impact reaches throughout Southeastern Michigan. Bordine's has been the largest family-owned grower and retail garden center in Michigan for 77 years. Assistance League has been serving the community since 1993.
