ACDC is excited to announce our pilot program to help recent immigrant, first-time homebuyers reach their goals with the Matched Savings program, in partnership with the Midas Collaborative and funded in part by the United Way of Mass Bay/Merrimack Valley.

The program has already reached capacity, and we look forward to expanding on the pilot program to serve more families in the coming years.

One of our planning interns, Yanjing, created a Google map of Chinatown, with segments for community services, restaurants, grocery stores, and other community amenities.  Her vision was to design a bilingual tool that would help residents, new immigrants and visitors learn more about the community by exploring and discovering new or unknown resources and attractions.

Xunquan, a recent immigrant who with his wife, is supporting twin children currently in college, graduated from ACDC's first-time homebuyer course. He has since been working with our Housing Counselor, Lee, and recently purchased his first home.

Our program, which has expanded to serve Malden residents, was funded with the Boston Foundation's Open Door grant, so that more family's like Xunquan's can become empowered to reach their financial and home-buying goals. The Boston Foundation recently featured Xunquan's story in their summer newsletter.

Five CAPAL (Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership) Scholars worked with ACDC, who advised the scholars and provided data analysis, to p rove the displacement of AAPIs from Boston's Chinatown and create a guide as to how to use a mapping tool to better analyze housing trends. 

Their Community Action Project (CAP) is a collaborative effort between CAPAL Scholars and Interns to build leadership and public policy knowledge and involvement within the Asian Pacific American community, in service of the mission to CAPAL. Scholars and interns will work together to develop tangible ways to connect and engage in initiatives important to them.
